In order to live a happy life, maintaining a comfortable level of emotional wellness is key. Everything we feel and do relates to our well-being and directly affects our actions and emotions. In order to manage stress, reduce anxieties and re-learn how best to enjoy the good moments in life, we need to reconnect with what makes us happy.
This can be hard if happiness seems an impossible destination. Job loss, money worries, bereavement, relationships breaking down, are just four examples of changes being made in our world that we have little or no control over.
In these and other life altering events, we need to work a little harder for ourselves and with a great deal of patience with ourselves.
My hope with having a web presence is to reach out to anyone experiencing a stressful life event, whatever it may be. My main work is with people who have lost someone they love and some of the pages address aspects of bereavement. However, I hope I can be of some small help to people who are just having a tough time.
Grief due to loss of any kind leaves us in a dark place for a while. Sleep deprivation is damaging to our health and well being and so becomes punishing in our day to day lives. I believe meditation helps anyone but only if someone also believes it can help them. We have to be receptive of its potential to start with and I know that not everyone is.
I also know they probably won't be reading this!
I hope to help you recover from the pain of grief through guiding you on a transformative journey towards finding a sense of acceptance and peace following a bereavement. Together, we will navigate the complexities of grieving. I will help you find ways to cope with overwhelming emotions so that you can start enjoying your memories.
Through compassionate support and practical strategies, you will discover the strength within yourself to heal. Taking one day at a time, I will help you find and develop the tools needed to better cope without that significant person physically present in your world. Healing after a bereavement is so hard because it is not a linear path. We have good days and bad days. Each step you take, no matter how small, is a step forward. I will listen to you and learn about you. We will also talk a great deal about the person who has passed away.
All of us have different ways of dealing with life’s stresses and so I will help you explore strategies you feel comfortable with. Above all, I will teach you how to be more patient with yourself. There will be those inevitable sad days and they will always hit you when least you expect it. An initial telephone call for us to connect will mark the start of your programme of support best suited to your needs. Wellness is more than being free from illness: it is a process of change and growth towards a mentally and physically healthy lifestyle. Life can be difficult. If we do not process those difficulties and try to make sense of them, they can overwhelm us. Meditation can help us to enjoy a more positive, calm and emotionally healthy life.
